Today August 15th 2008 , we celebrate our 62nd independence day.I wish that our Indian economy must grow better and inflation must be kept under check and Let's all hope that our India must grow as a super power and let's work towards that.We can do whatever possible to take our India to great heights. And today most of the central government employees , including my mother are happy since our P.M is going to announce the 6th central pay commission. And Government has also accepted to give the pay commission arrears from 1st January 2006.
Jai Hind .
Happy independence Day

Now a days engineering (studies) has become a business and engineering colleges aim at each and every aspect through which they can money. My college (AIHT Anand Institute of Higher Technology ) is never an exception.
I went to college to collect CC and TC and took my ID card with me to surrender it to college. This is the formality followed in most of the colleges. But i was amazed that they didn't ask me to surrender the ID , i even got CC and TC.So i was happy that our college has matured and won't say that they'll not give not CC and TC without ID.And few days before i met one of the staffs and had a chat with him. In the middle i told him about this ID card issue .Then i was shocked to know the answer that our college might only give the degree certificate (at the time of convocation) only if we surrender the ID.So i asked them why they couldn't get it now itself.
He replied me if we didn't ID card we have to pay 50 rupees or so as fine.If they get the ID at the time of convocation they can get even Rs.200 .So they are planning for a 150 or 200 rupee profit if you don't have it now or you lost it thinking you need not surrender respectively.

On 22nd of may 2008 my results came and i became a complete engineer. Now i can proudly say that I'm an engineer .On one side i can be happy to be a engineer but the sad thing is that I've learned nothing from engineering ! No practical knowledge and I've just learned how to cheat the examiner by writing the sub-headings and diagrams right and filling the content with my own stories.I wish that anna university changes the system .Lacs of engineers come out every year but its very hard to FIND A REAL ENGINEER .

This is that time of the year when parents go in search of the best Engineering College for their wards. I feel I can provide some assistance in your quest for a quality college for your children. Myself being an Engineering student who just passed out I hope my thoughts will be valuable to you. I have gone to several engineering colleges across the city to participate in several competitions and symposiums. So I feel I can share my experiences with you.
Let me start with the Jeppiaar institutions. I think every college owned by Jeppiaar has excellent infrastructure facilities. St.Joseph's College is one the best in my view and this college produces a large number of toppers in Anna Univ exams in recent years and also excels in sports. Panimalar is also a beautiful college with outstanding facilities and faculties. They say all Jeppiaar Colleges are strict but you can be completely assured that your ward will get his placement before he completes his degree. The food is exemplary in all his colleges. SSN college of Engineering is undisputedly the first choice college to opt for with excellent academic performance and produces highly successful students. The next college coming to my mind is Crescent Enginerering College. This college has evolved into one of the best in the city. It has a wonderful campus and ideally situated at Vandalur. Campus Placements are very good with almost all the eligible students getting placement. Velamaal Engineering college is another strict college but the quality of education and the number of students getting placement is outstanding. Meenakshi Sundarajan Engineering college is another wonderful college located within the city at Kodambakam and all top companies visit this college. SVCE will always remain one of the top colleges in the city and has continued to excel in all departments. Sairam Engineering College has carved a niche among the top colleges and keeps on improving day by day.
Among the Deemed Universities S.R.M and Sathyabama are the best. The other colleges of S.R.M group like Valliamai and Easwari Engineering college are also good. Some of the other colleges coming to my mind are Jerusalem Engineering college, Hindustan Engineering college and MNM. These are the best colleges in the city according to me to the best of my knowledge. Any college that has not figured in this list might also qualify for the top slot but not in my view. This article is entirely my personal opinion based on my own experiences and not meant to hurt anyone studying in other colleges.
And finally Anand Institute is a worst college ever to join for above average students but its ok for average students.

L.Balaji , a cricketer who was famous once suddenly disappeared from international arena. He didn't play well in some matches but due to politics in BCCI he was chucked out.And before a month he was totally forgotten. And when IPL came in he was auctioned by CSK(Chennai super kings). Before politics and now his bad luck had made him not to play till last 3 games.yes he was injured and was desperate to show his ability. And in his 3rd IPL match he destroyed KXI punjab's hope of taking revenge against CSK for their 1st match loss against CSK.Balaji bowled impressively and took the first ever hat rick of IPL.By this performance he sends out a clear message to the selectors of Indian team that he is still capable and young as well as experienced to play for india. And also musharaff will be happy if he comes to know about balaji's hat trick.Since musharaff was a great fan of balaji.

OPTO ELECTRONICS paper was horrible , guess because the curse of Mr. RAMANATHAN

Yesterday (3/05/2008) was my final examination of my B.E .The exam was Opto Electronics. It was a elective and we chose that elective by seeing the syllabus. The syllabus was only one line for each unit , so got attracted towards it.While attending the classes we didn't mind so much about the subject thinking that anyways we will study at the end of sem. Moreover Mr. Ramanathan was handling that subject and no one took his words serious.People won't listen to his class and everyone would do their own business. This is similar to what happens in your classroom and each and every classroom in engineering colleges. But there is a slight difference in my classroom. Most of the staff in the engineering just come for name sake and teach some bla-bla and go away. And in some other cases staff would have interest to teach but students won't be interested , so their interest also become less and they behave as other staff do.
But its different in Mr. RAMNATHAN M.E 's case. He's a newcomer to our college who joined in the mid of 2007.Students in my class won't mind him, and do their work.I'll tell in front of a class like no one would be willing to teach .But this man sticks on to his job and teaches with utmost involvement .I've seen his notes , he prepares daily for taking class and doesn't finish the class before he finishes everything which he prepared. And moreover i think he is the only staff in the college to finish all the 5 units in 8th sem(hardly 30 hours totally throughout the sem).
Students started irritating him more when he took class. One day he started advising and speaking philosophies .I quote what he said
The first thing which came to my mind after seeing the question paper was a popular sms joke which came to be real in my life. The sms is
"when you don't know the answers in the papers and the paper is tough close your eyes for one minute , take a deep breath and say to yourself , MAPU VACHITTAN DA AAPU "

Though my engineering studies is over , i wish to continue to be in touch with all engineering students and their trends happenings and especially I'm very much eager to know about the projects which all the students are doing .So i decided to attract large number of visitors to the site which I've created for question banks.I started with question banks and now I've included a new feature in the site "Sell your final year projects " through which you can sell your projects to your juniors .I only charge 10 % from the selling party.
since i included this option the numbers of projects which i received for selling kept on increasing.
Now I've around 50 engineering projects of various departments .
I got overwhelming response for the question banks too.
Nearly 2000 pages loads a day and 1000 unique visitors a day.

Today(22nd mar 2008) morning i went to DHANISH ENGINEERING college to accompany my friend saravanan a a job fair held at that college itself. The name of the job fair was WHIZ2008.It was raining heavily and the college management didn't permit the college security to open the gates. All the students who came to attend the job fair were standing in rain. And all the students were confused why the gates weren't opened. After waiting for a hour they opened the gates. Then i understood the reason.
They were waiting for a huge crowd to gather near the gates and they wanted to take a photograph and boast that thousands of students appeared for the job fair.I even found a man on the top of a building who was taking photographs.
When i saw their website i found a photograph which was taken last year. They made a similar arrangement to take photo. But it was not raining on that day.But today it was huge rain. They could have allowed the students to enter without waiting in the rain.I've disclosed the photo which they took last year.

NO SLEDGING -NO VICTROY , for AUSTRALIANS

A small fact:-When Sachin got out in 90's i knew the result of the match. That is INDIA would win.Because if you would have noticed in the past , whenever Sachin is dismissed in 90's INDIA had won in those matches.
By winning the tri-series straight 2-0 Indian's taught a good lesson for the Aussies .Aussies thought that they were unbeatable and they didn't respect any of the teams in the world .But today they had to bow down and respect team India's young guns.
And after Harbhajan-Symonds issue the level of sledging in the game reduced which in turn led to poor performance by AUSSIES.So if Aussies were restricted on sledging then there are chances that Aussies won't win even a single match.

EMPHASIS 08- Didn't become a success due to power failure but not a failure for sure

As you know that EMPHASIS 08 is an electronic resurrection festival i.e. symposium conducted by ECE department of AIHT , was neither a success nor a failure. In the morning after seeing the crowd I thought it would become a great success story .More than 300 students registered (remind you 300 is a good number because we did not have the Gaming ).Prelims for all events was going well and till lunch everything was happening as planned.Of course lunch also was great. No one complained about the lunch. After lunch started the bad phase of our symposium. It was creative crafting event's finals in that main Auditorium and it started well but within few minutes of commencement there was a power supply failure , we thought the generator would be switched on . But as usual our kanjoose college management gave a reason that " Generator has burnt ". Participants and audience were annoyed and after around 15 minutes power came .But the time allotted for that event had been over so they were forced to conduct the event in a lab. Next came the Ad-Zap event , It also started well and the same thing happened here also power failure , after waiting for more that 20 minutes the Adzap was planned to be conducted in a lab with only finalists and few co-ordinators.All the finalists went to lab. Then our staffs asked them to conduct in main auditorium itself( remind you there is no current ).After a great confusion and chaos the participants were called back to the main auditorium and event started , after few minutes power came , but the time allotted was over . So they made it very short. Overall the power supply damaged our symposium. I think the departments like CSE , IT , MECH who are going to conduct symposium must rent a generator for any emergency. Please do not believe our college .
