Today I'm very happy :-)
As we know that, today (may 9th 2008) the +2 results for Tamilnadu state board were published , and my brother also took up his exam this march .He passed the exam with good marks. He scored 1127/1200 , and he has got a cutoff of 194 in MPC .And another happy thing is that he scored 5 marks less than me , but if he would have scored single mark more than me then i would have been teased by my mom .A similar case happened in his 10th result , he scored above me and i was teased. But now i won !!
But both of us have same marks in MPC. so no problem.
Does anyone have any idea of which college he can get .He is interested in CSE and fall under OC category ?

Spoke with Ramanathan sir !!

Thursday, May 8, 2008

Today i called Ramantahan sir and spoke about the evaluation procedure .
First of all a bad news , Sir is not gonna correct the Opto electronics papers and he is going for correction only on 18th may but correction for final years starts by 10th may.
But there are some good news also. The first question 11.a(ii) was out of portion and next next choice was not from out of portion as we thought.Actually these questions were in Bhattacharya book.and all problems were also from the same. The question paper was prepared from Bhattacharya book and not from J.WILSON , which was supposed to be our prescribed book. And Bhattacharya which was a reference book all questions came from that.
And another good news is that sir has wrote a letter to Anna univ about out of syllabus questions and some other questions also. He told me that mere attempt may be claimed by 3 reasons
1.out of syllabus.
2.Answer was lengthy to be completed in allotted time.
3.Average students couldn't answer tough questions.
sir has exploited all these three options and wrote a letter to controller of examinations Anna university.
Moreover it seems that AKCE final year ECE also took opt as their elective and their staff also wrote a similar letter to anna univ.
Finally sir told that if we had attended all the answers then we are sure to pass.
Say thanks to RAMANTHAN sir if you wish in comments section.

KURUVI MOVIE REVIEW

Sunday, May 4, 2008

Kuruvi the most expected film of the year directed by Dharani and produced by DMK family didn't click as it was expected. The combination of Dharani and vijay was a blockbuster in the movie "ghilli".Vivek's comedy were good up to an extent and this film film falls under the category of yet another vijay's masala formula film .Some other films under masala category which didn't make great impact in the box office were ATM , AATHI ,BAGAVATHI,MADURA ,SIVAKASI etc.
And the movie had many scens copied from hollywood and tollywood films.I came to this from the sify site. I quote some of the lines

"The first half has bits and shreds of Mask of Zorro when the lead pair meet and romance, comedy elements and mix-up scenes from The French Kiss and post interval it looks like the Telugu film Chatrapati."

Overall the film would be good for hardcore vijay fans and not appealing to the common audience .

OPTO ELECTRONICS paper was horrible , guess because the curse of Mr. RAMANATHAN

Yesterday (3/05/2008) was my final examination of my B.E .The exam was Opto Electronics. It was a elective and we chose that elective by seeing the syllabus. The syllabus was only one line for each unit , so got attracted towards it.While attending the classes we didn't mind so much about the subject thinking that anyways we will study at the end of sem. Moreover Mr. Ramanathan was handling that subject and no one took his words serious.People won't listen to his class and everyone would do their own business. This is similar to what happens in your classroom and each and every classroom in engineering colleges. But there is a slight difference in my classroom. Most of the staff in the engineering just come for name sake and teach some bla-bla and go away. And in some other cases staff would have interest to teach but students won't be interested , so their interest also become less and they behave as other staff do.
But its different in Mr. RAMNATHAN M.E 's case. He's a newcomer to our college who joined in the mid of 2007.Students in my class won't mind him, and do their work.I'll tell in front of a class like no one would be willing to teach .But this man sticks on to his job and teaches with utmost involvement .I've seen his notes , he prepares daily for taking class and doesn't finish the class before he finishes everything which he prepared. And moreover i think he is the only staff in the college to finish all the 5 units in 8th sem(hardly 30 hours totally throughout the sem).
Students started irritating him more when he took class. One day he started advising and speaking philosophies .I quote what he said

" I am doing my work properly and sincerely , if you also do the same thing then you'll come up in life , else i don't know "

I can't say he cursed us , but the paper was horrible and all the students knew hardly one answer. When i received the question paper i saw the questions and asked the invigilator that was it my paper or some other department's paper !

The first thing which came to my mind after seeing the question paper was a popular sms joke which came to be real in my life. The sms is
"when you don't know the answers in the papers and the paper is tough close your eyes for one minute , take a deep breath and say to yourself , MAPU VACHITTAN DA AAPU "
